Formal supports can be viewed as paid supports that you usually have to apply through an agency to receive from an agency.

  • Intensive in-home therapy
  • Community-based Speech and Language Pathologist; Occupational Therapist; Physical Therapist
  • Play-based therapy
  • Social skills groups
  • Psychology and Psychiatry
  • Medications (help with symptoms and other health issues that could be present)
  • Communication aids and systems

This list is focused on interventions directly for your child/youth. Other options include sensory diets, sensory supports, visual schedules, assistance dogs and much more. Natural supports are services that are available in your community.
