All Behavior Matters: What Counts as Challenging Behavior and for Who?
May 24, 8:30am-12:00pm
We have heard that all behavior matters and that all behavior is communication.
Yet we often get stuck when a behavior is labeled as challenging.
When we do this, we should dig deeper and determine who is challenged by the behavior:
- Is it challenging for the person exhibiting the behavior?
- Is it challenging for people in charge of a group?
- Is it challenging for people around the person?
At this gathering, participants will be given the opportunity to step back and examine how our own beliefs, training, and attitudes can lead to a behavior being classified as challenging.
